Chris & Jenny’s Cooling Castle Wedding
Hey Folks! Today on the blog is Jenny & Chris’s wedding day.
Jenny & Chris got married at Cooling Castle in July. After viewing various venues they both instantly knew Cooling Castle was the perfect location for them.
‘It had everything we were looking for, from a beautiful barn, to gorgeous gardens and as the staff have weddings day in day out, we knew we would be well looked after.’
‘We had no particular theme to our day but tried to keep everything very rustic and natural as Chris and I both love the outdoors, we felt it brought a little bit of our own personality to the day.’
Jenny & Chris’s flowers consisted of white roses, and white and blue hydrangea, fragrant lilies, gypsophelia, and they used eucalyptus as it gave off a beautiful scent as well as bringing a soft silver into the arrangement. The florist used soft, delicate trails to finish the look.
‘My bouquet was bound with twine and held a small locket which contained a photo of my grandfather who sadly passed away the year prior, it was comforting knowing I was able to have him with us on our special day.’
The bridesmaids bouquets were a smaller arrangement of gypsophelia bound with the excess material from Jenny’s wedding dress.
The groom wore a single white rose with gypsophelia foliage and the best man and ushers followed suit with a single white rose.
‘My wedding dress was a strapless lace fishtail dress, with a sweat heart neckline and was scattered with sequin details which added a sparkle to the lace. The dress done up at the back with buttons and had a trail which I loved swishing around on the dance floor in the evening, I had a slightly longer veil again which had small crystals scattered throughout it and a lace boarder at the very end of the train. My dress made me feel like a princess and I would be lying if I said I haven’t put it on again since!!’
‘I asked the make up artist to keep my make up as natural as possible, as I felt it kept with the rest of the wedding theme, and my hair was curled and worn half up and half down with decorative crystal beads which the bridesmaids also wore in their hair.’
The groom, best man and ushers all wore charcoal suits with tails and matching waistcoats. Their cravats were satin and windsor blue to tie in with the bridesmaids outfits who wore one shoulder floor length chiffon dresses.
‘They all looked amazing and done us proud on the day.’
‘The day as a whole was a dream come true, Chris and I often find ourselves talking about what a great success it was and wishing we could relive it.
It was magical to see all our friends and family come together to celebrate with us, to see them smiling and enjoying themselves, topped the whole day off.
It was very easily the best day of our lives.’
