Greg & Kelly’s Chiddingstone Castle Wedding Day – Kent Wedding Photographer – James Grist Photography
Today on the blog is Greg & Kelly’s Chiddingstone Castle Wedding Day. These guys tied the knot last month at Mary’s Church, Chiddingstone, and then went on to their reception at Chiddingstone Castle.
Greg & Kelly chose their church for it’s beauty and location, it’s situated in a quaint Kent village with a typical English pub just moments away. They loved the traditional country feel. The castle was chosen for their reception because of the wonderful grounds it boasts, with breathtaking views across the horizon. The loved the attitude for the castle staff, nothing seemed like it was too much trouble, which made Greg & Kelly feel really welcomed and comfortable on their special day.
Their theme was ‘country vintage’ which was achieved by the birdcage and tealight centre pieces, as well as the inclusion of lace pieces within the decorations and the wedding cake. The colour scheme was a soft dusky pink to match the bridesmaids. Pink is also Kelly’s favourite colour!
For the flower arrangements they chose pink and ivory Roses, mixed with baby’s breath. Roses are Kelly’s favourite as they are beautifully classic.
For Kelly’s dress, she went for an ivory strapless, full skirted design. The skirt itself was lovely and full, mainly plain but the top had ruching detail with diamantes on the body. It zipped up at the back with delicate buttons covering the zip. Kelly went for this particular design because it was her princess dress that she’d always wanted and she just loved everything about it. Kelly had her hair in a low curly up-do, and went for a classic romantic look for her make up. She wanted to stay in keeping with her traditional dress and beautiful venue, keeping it all very classy and elegant.
The bridesmaids worse strapless soft dusky pink dresses, and the groomsmen looked smart in their three piece, navy, morning suits with pink ties to match the bridesmaids. The colours went really well and the particular shade of pink complimented the navy suits well.
Greg & Kelly had this to say about their day, ‘The day couldn’t have gone better. We spent a year and half planning and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The weather turned out to be really lovely, and the castle/catering staff ensured the day went without a hitch, along with our fantastic photographer!
Special memories/moments for me were getting ready with my girls in the morning and my Dad seeing me in my dress for the first time.
The best part of the day for me was actually getting married. I thought I would be nervous but I loved every minute of it in the church. I also loved when Greg got choked up when he started saying his vows, and he’s usually so calm and collected! Greg really loved the speeches that my Dad and his best men gave. A good mixture of emotional and humorous moments. He was nervous about his speech, but it went really well.
In all, the day was perfect and so many of our guests have said what a great time they had which is lovely to hear.’
