Harold & Jane’s The Red Barn Wedding
Hey Folks! Today on the blog is Harold & Jane’s wedding day. Harold and Jane got married at All Saints Church, Kenley and then went onto the Red Barn in Lingfield.
‘The venue was at the Red Barn, Lingfield. Quirky, shabby-chic, a country feel with a great outdoors, again no fuss. No linen, very informal. Fabulous support and advice received from Jess and the team.’
‘We’d actually met with the priest 2 years ago when we were looking to get married at the time. However, we lost someone close to us and our plans went on hold. We chose this church as we are part of the community and were made to feel extremely welcome and privileged. It was amazing, I remember taking a deep breathe before going down the aisle, desperately wanting to take it all in. The singer and pianist were amazing, it was very intimate with family & close friends.’
For the flowers H & Jane chose simple white, wild flowers. Jane said the colour scheme fell into place after choosing Navy for the bridesmaids dresses, and then Navy again for the Groomsmen’s suits. The groomsmen finished off their outfits with lilac tones and brown shoes.
Originally, Jane had no idea which wedding dress she’d choose but after trying one on just for the sake of it, she fell in love with it! It had a Corset top, with drop waist, and a Vera Wang style slashed material, with a train.
“I was planning to do my own hair and make-up, but glad I was able to go to a salon and have my hair up for the day, with a MAC make-up artist arriving early in the morning, to add glamour to the day.”
“Our friends, family, children, parents, siblings, some travelled afar to be part of our very special day. We loved our day, it will always be one of the happiest days of our lives, and if we could re-live the moment we would. Friends were so connected in many ways without realising that it’s such a small world. This made the atmosphere and vibe so relaxed and everyone had such a good time with a party atmosphere, celebrating a truly wonderful time with two families becoming one. Couldn’t ask for more”
Special moments – “My dad walking me down the aisle, the point at which H and I first saw each other, the vows (as if no-one else was in the church). The laughs getting ready, both with the girls and the boys, sharing sentimental moments, Ellis reading and Yasmin with the rings, the exit from the church dancing down the aisle. With the weather, we were truly blessed, pouring with rain in the morning and once arrived at the venue, beautiful sunshine for our day. The dancing, the drinking, the laughing – we couldn’t stop smiling. Wouldn’t change a thing and all planned within 6 months!”
