Hollie & Joe’s The Red Barn Wedding

Hollie & Joe’s The Red Barn Wedding

Hey Folks! Today on the blog we have Hollie & Joe’s barn wedding. Hollie & Joe tied the knot back in Febuary at The Red Barn in Lingfield, Surrey.

Where did you get married? And what were your reasons for choosing your venue? ‘We got married at The Red Barn near Lingfield. The reason we chose this barn was because we knew we wanted a more modern barn but something laid back and relaxed to match us as a couple. The theme for the day was Red. This is because it’s my favourite colour, it’s vibrant and also the colour stands for love which the day is all about.’

Which flowers did you choose? ‘The flowers we chose had to go with the red theme and my favourite flowers, so we went for red roses, red berrys, mixed foliage and some holly to go with my name. The Bridesmaids had white roses and gyp to brake up the red. We kept this theme around the venue with all the mixed red and white colours in handmade jars which all my friends and family made prior to the wedding.’

Tell us about the dress! ‘My dress was from the designer Mori Lee and I always had in my head since I was younger the style I wanted. It was a strapless, sweet heart top with a A-Line bottom. I didn’t want a lot of bling so I went for the glimmer in the lights and a lace design that was scattered on the dress throughout. My veil matched the patterns in the dress so that was one of my favourite aspects as it looked like it all come together.’

How did you have your hair/make up and why?‘Myself and my chief bridesmaid had a trial with our makeup artist before hand and loved it so there was no looking back! We went for a full coverage that would last the whole day and wouldn’t come off during any dancing. The eyes were a Bronzey gold ombré style with a bold brow but kept everything else quite natural and soft to make our eyes pop.’

Which colour did the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids wear? ‘The Groomsmen were in the Groom’s fave colour, navy blue from Marks & Spencer’s. The Groom wore the three price with a bright red tie to go with the theme. The Groomsmen had a paisley tie to stand out from any of the other wedding party. The Bridesmaids wore bright red fish tail floor length dresses from the website Asos. They had a criss cross back which looked beautiful. We then paired it with sparkly court shoes so they glistened when they walked down the aisle.’

How did you feel that the day went as a whole? Are there any special memories that you’d like to share?‘The day was even more then we could ever have imagined but it went so quick! It was lovely getting married a little later in the day so I had the time with my bridesmaids and mum getting ready, having a drink and a laugh. One of the most memorable moments was when I walked into the venue for the first time and saw all my hard work and my husband to be waiting at the end with all my closest family and friends! We then had a party to remember!’
