James & Hollie’s Epic Carnival Preston Court Wedding

James & Hollie’s Epic Carnival Preston Court Wedding

Where did you get married?

We got married at Preston Court, Canterbury.  When first discussing ideas for our wedding day, we both wanted to throw an amazing party for our guests.  As soon as we saw Preston Court we knew it was the perfect place.  The carousel and beautiful organs in the main barn were the perfect backdrop for our fun-filled day.  We worked with our fantastic caterers and event planners, Cura Foods, to create an amazing day…from fairground games, to an immersive dining experience (complete with a ringmaster MC) – we wanted to make our wedding memorable for everyone.  We picked up on the beautiful surroundings and used as many colours as we could to bring the venue to life.

Which flowers did you choose?

Our florist, Dora Kovacs, met us at the venue to discuss ideas.  We used various different flowers, including roses, orchids and hydrangeas, to create colourful bouquets and stunning centre-pieces.  We designed the tables with Cura, using fake grass instead of tablecloths, and with trees filled with flowers and foliage emerging from the centre of the tables.  It looked incredible!
I chose my Essense of Australia dress from Isabella Grace in Tunbridge Wells.  As soon as I tried it on I realised that it was the perfect style for me – floaty and elegant on the bottom, with beautiful beading and lace on the top.  I loved the shape of the beading at the front of the dress and the straps that were shaped beautifully at the back.
I had a hair and make up consultation in advance of the wedding with my amazing stylist, Melissa Clare.  My makeup was relatively natural and my hair was curled and styled so that it was half-up and twisted at the back, with a pretty vine sitting on the top.

Which colour did the groomsmen/bridesmaids wear?

The bridesmaid dresses were in two styles but with an array of colours to match the theme of the day.  The groomsmen wore blue Marc Darcy suits with ties to match.

How did you feel that the day went as a whole

We were thrilled with our day; it was even more fun and wild than we expected!  The carousel was a big hit.  Another real highlight was creating our menu and watching our guests enjoy it – including the edible menus, which guests could eat after spraying with cucumber and juniper infused gin!  It was the perfect day.
ENJOY!
