Mat & Katie’s Charlton House Wedding Day – Kent Wedding Photographer – James Grist Photography
Today on the blog is Mat & Katie’s Charlton House Wedding day. These guys tied the knot at Charlton House in Greenwich last month. They first fell in love with the venue for it’s romantic period features and beautifully kept walled garden.
Mat & Katie went with a romantic, antique theme to give the day a relaxed, calm feel. They used shades of dusky lilacs and creams, with lots of floating ribbons and glassware to add a soft romantic mood.
For the flowers they chose mainly Gypsophila and Roses, but also went with a mixture of delicate ‘hand picked’ looking flowers for the tables too.
Katie’s dress was a soft and floaty number with antique lace detailing on the bodice and capped sleeves. Katie went for a more natural look with both her hair and make up. She wanted to look & feel like herself rather than someone dolled up.
Mat & his wingmen wore mid grey suits with a dark mauve tie and topped off with a dusky lilac buttonhole. The Bridesmaids wore a dusky grey/lilac silk dress with Gyp bouquets.
Katie’s highlights: “We had such an amazing day. The weather was great so just being able to be outside for the drinks reception and later on in the evening made the whole day feel really relaxed.”
“My dad doing a harmonica solo later in the evening with our swing band was also an added touch.”
