Hey guys!Today on the blog I have an awesome wedding to share! It’s the wedding of Nick and Becca, who tied the knot at Dartford Manor Gatehouse last month, followed by their reception in West Kingsdown village hall.
The Ceremony was held at The Manor Gatehouse as Becca is really into her history and loved the story behind the old building.
They opted for a real laid back feel for their day, making sure it was family orientated. Nick and Becca had an overwhelming amount of help and support from loved ones, including their fabulous Auntie Rita who supplied all of the food after previously being a caterer! …their fantastic band who are personal friends and family members. Becca’s parents Sue & Alan, and her brother and sister Amy & Daniel who all worked so hard to help give them the perfect day. They also had help from lovely friends which made their day feel even more personal and allowed everyone to be involved and play their part, which is exactly how they wanted it.
Pretty much everything was handmade by Becca & Nick with some help from parents and siblings too.
For the colour scheme they went for red and black, the two maids of honour followed the chosen colours with red dresses and handmade red and black corsages on their wrists. Becca wore a beautiful backless, fishtail style dress, with red designs all over to give it that extra ‘wow’ factor! The dress was actually custom designed by herself, their daughter Emily, and her good friend Jo Withey of ‘With Love & Lace’. Jo hand stitched every tiny detail of the gown and also added an extra special something to it by including an engraved, Swarovski heart pendant, that Nick had given Becca the day before their wedding.
Their daughter Emily wore an ivory dress made from the same material as Becca’s with matching red designs, and a personalised, handstitched message for her on the inside. Her dress was actually a surprise present from designer Jo as both her and Becca though it would be nice for little Emily to match her mum on the big day.Becca went for a natural look for her make-up, focusing mainly on her eyes with nothing too heavy. For her hair she had it curled and swept up in a side chignon, with a red flower in the nape of her neck.
Nick & Becca had this to say about their dream day, ‘As a whole we both loved every minute of the day, and both agree that the most memorable part, was when our Emily stood up and said the sweetest speech. We were both doing ok on the ‘no crying rule’ until she spoke, and then we both felt like we were just going to internally combust with pride!! She wrote it herself and then stood up with such confidence, it’s a proud mummy moment that I know I’ll personally never forget.’
As a whole it was an awesome day and my personal favourite moment was being included in Nick’s ‘speech song’!
