Padraic & Sophie’s Winter Wedding at Brandshatch Place Hotel

Hey Folks! Today on the blog is Padraic & Sophie’s Winter Wedding at Brandshatch Place Hotel. They tied the knot November last year wintery theme to their day, Full with grey and silver tones.  Thank you for a great day ! It was a pleasure photographing your wedding, you made me feel very welcome 😀

What first attracted you to your venue? The minute we drove up to Brandshatch Place Hotel we knew it was the one for us. We had visited a few other lovely venues but we were keen to have our wedding ceremony and reception in the same place. Both of us have wide spread families so it was important for us to have somewhere for them to stay as well. Brandshatch place was perfect for all of this. The building and grounds are beautiful and the staff were so friendly, we fell in love with it instantly. -What was your theme? The only real theme that we had in mind was a “wintery” theme. We chose greys and silvers for the venue decorations and wedding party, with a hint of colour from the flowers we chose.

Which flowers did you choose? Luckily we have a florist in the family who knew exactly what flowers would be best when I was trying (and failing!) to explain our thoughts to her. We went for quite a natural look with hand tied bouquets made up of Ivory and memory lane roses, white lisianthus, white Veronica, Brunia berries, gypsophila, blue thistles and lots of green foliage.

Tell us about the dress! My dress was an A line lace, tulle and satin Ronald Joyce dress in champagne and Ivory. It had a pearl and diamanté band around the waist and a detachable train that I just fell in love with. I felt amazing in it and knew it was the one when I stepped out of the changing room in the bridal shop and saw my mum and sisters faces.

How did you have your hair and makeup? I wanted both my hair and make up to be quite elegant and natural. I was lucky enough to have Zara from ‘Wedding Hair and Makeup by Zara’ do both of mine on the day. I normally wear my hair down but wanted my hair to be out of the way on the day so opted for a curly updo. I think that this also complimented my veil quite nicely.

What did the Bridesmaids/Groomsmen wear? The Bridesmaids were in floor length, strapless dark grey dresses. With them both being quite tall and slim I felt they both really suited the style. We teamed it with a grey fur wrap for when they had to go outside (with it being November it was quite chilly!) The Groomsmen wore dark blue suits with grey ties and pocket squares to match the dresses.

How do you feel the day went as a whole? It’s hard to put in to words how amazing our wedding day was. It was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more. I know people say that it is the best day of your life, but it truely was. It’s hard to choose particular special moments as the whole day was just perfect. I think one of the main high lights for both of us was having all our family and friends in the same place at the same time. We will never forget it.
