Adam & Emma’s Shabby Chic Salomons Estate Wedding
Hey Folks, Today on the blog is Adam & Emma vintage shabby chic theme wedding at Salomons Estate,Kent. They tied the knot back in August, Thank you for a great day ! It was a pleasure photographing your wedding.
Where did you get married and why did you choose your venue?
We chose to get married at Salomons Estate after going to see so many venues which just didn’t fit the bill, we love the countryside and the stunning grounds and views at Salomons sold it to us!
Which theme and colour scheme did you choose for your day?
We had a shabby chic/vintage theme to our wedding with soft pastel shades as our colour scheme.
Which flowers did you choose?
We had an amazing and passionate florist and the stunning flowers exceeded all expectations on the day! For my bouquet, we had a loose and rustic posy of white peonies, blue nigella, peach avalanche roses with rosemary and mint bound in hessian with lace edging. The Groom had a peach avalanche rose button hole with blue nigella and the ushers had a peach vandella rose buttonhole.
The Bridesmaids had a mix of peach roses, blue nigella with mint and rosemary which made them smell amazing! For the centrepieces we had a mix of jars filled with the bridal flowers, peach avalanche roses, lillies and blue nigella. The top table had a large spray of peach lillies, apricot stocks, cream lissianthus and ivy eucalyptus.
Tell us about the dress!
My dress was a beautiful, lacey strapless and fitted champagne Ivory colour with a soft satin sash bow at the back. I decided to make the bow detachable and added a vintage style belt with buttons at the clasp, to wear during the ceremony to tie in with the theme.
My favourite aspect was the pearl buttons at the back which ran all the way down the trail and for the evening I was able to add a satin sash and bow to the dress to mix it up a bit!
How did you have your hair and make up?
My hair was up and fitted the vintage theme with soft pin curls and a lace and pearl butterfly clip. My make up was fairly natural, I didn’t want to go for the bright red lipstick which is classic vintage!
Which colour did the Groomsmen/Bridesmaids wear?
The Groomsmen had navy suits and peach ties and the Bridesmaids had a range of maxi length and mid length pastel blue dresses.
How did you feel that the day went as a whole? Are there any special memories that you’d like to share?
For us, we thought our day was perfect and although we dreaded the fact that it might pour down with rain during the ceremony (and those rain drops were huge), it did manage to hold off until later. Someone said to me after the ceremony ‘Those were your mum’s tears of happiness’ which was so touching and we have treasured that memory to think that she was there on the day ?? The change in weather also meant we had stunning pictures in the rain and in the evening sun!
The band (Live Productions) was also another highlight, they were fantastic and the dance floor was so busy all night! It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves!
