Emma & Ian’s Old Royal Naval College Wedding Day – London Wedding Photographer – James Grist Photography

Hey Folks,

Today on the blog is Emma & Ian’s Old Royal Naval College wedding day. Emma & Ian’s wedding took place at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. They had their first date in Greenwich 9 years ago and have celebrated there every year since. They chose the Old Royal Naval College because it was such a stunning venue with so much character and history which we felt made it unique and different to other wedding venues we had looked at.

They wanted a simple wedding with plenty of entertainment to make it a day to remember for all of their guests. They chose a pink and white vintage theme with a bit of silver thrown in to tie in with the invitations. Emma arrived in style arriving in a London black cab.

Emma had chose vintage flowers, Roses, Rununculus and Peonies with white Hypericum berries thrown in, however a slight hiccup with the flowers on the day resulting in a last minute change of florist! Luckily we were able to find a fantastic florist Mrs Bouquet who last minute whipped up a beautiful pink and white rose bouquets.
Emma chose to wear a beautiful A line chiffon ruches dress, with a added diamante belt to add a little detail. Emma went for something slightly different for her hair. Long curly extensions with added Jenny Packaham clips, Emma’s main aim was to look and feel different, and of course surprise Ian.

The boys wore 3 piece navy suits with the Groomsmen accessorising with pink ties, buttonholes and pocket squares to match the Bridesmaids’ flowers and Ian wore ivory accessories to match the Brides dress. Not wanting to go “Pink Crazy” the Bridesmaids wore a pale blue 50’s style chiffon dress which tied in perfectly with the boys’ outfits.

All in all, Emma & Ian said
“It rained heavily all day on our wedding day but didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. All of our guests enjoyed the entertainment and I didn’t leave the dance floor all night! There was even a break dancing competition and I (the bride) got spun round on the floor in my wedding dress by my friends! The day flew by so fast and we wish we could do it all over again!”

“We loved the old bowling alley at the Old Royal Naval College, all of our guests had fun knocking down the skittles with old canon balls and was the biggest talking point of the day. Even James had a go and beat Ian hands down!!” { Owned }!
