Old Kent Barn Wedding

Lee & Hannah’s Rustic Winter Old Kent Barn Wedding Day – Kent Wedding Photographer – James Grist Photography

Hey Folks!
It’s blog time!
I have an awesome wedding for you guys today, it’s the wedding of Lee & Hannah, who tied the knot at St Martins-in-Herne church and then went on to Old Kent Barn for their reception.

The Old Kent Barn had everything they wanted from a venue. A key point was that the barn wasn’t sectioned off, so all their guests remained in one room. They also liked how beautifully kept the gardens are, with lots of opportunity for photos.

These guys went for a warm ‘Rustic Christmas’ theme, with lots of golds and browns. They used lights to set the mood of romance with a cosy Christmas atmosphere. Flowers didn’t play a massive part in their day, instead they went for pine cones, wood and natural materials to add to the romanic rustic look.

Hannah’s dress was a long sleeved, lace, fish tail dress. She chose it for its elegant simplicity, not wanting too much detail, but just enough to compliment the style she wanted. Her favourite part was its sheer laced sleeves, and how it gave a beautiful silhouette, and she just knew Lee would love it the moment he laid eyes on her! For her make up, she kept it simple with a classic smokey eyed look, Hannah wanted to keep it as close to her normal look as possible without going too over the top, and her make up artist achieved exactly that.

The bridesmaids wore gold/champagne colours with a faux fur brown shawl each, while the groomsmen wore brown suits to compliment them. The flower girls wore Ivory and gold tutu dresses to give an angel feel to their outfits.

To tie the flowers into their Christmassy feel, they chose Gypsophila as it bears resemblance to delicate snow flakes, with cream roses to finish it off.

Hannah & Lee had this to say about their day, ‘The whole day went better than we could have imagined. The warm feeling the candles created in the church, to the layout and design of the table settings in the venue were all stunning. To see all the little things we had planned and accumulated over the last year all come together so perfectly, made all the little stresses worth it. Our favourite part was looking from the top table, and seeing everyone we knew sat together, laughing and generally having a good time.

Although James came to do a job for us, having gotten to know him the lead up to the wedding and his general laid back manner, it felt like he was another guest, there to enjoy our day. Not once did we feel pressured by him to put a face on for a photo, it was all very natural. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of photographer!!’

Thanks for that guys!
