Nicci & Tom’s Wintery Grasshopper Inn Wedding – Kent Wedding Photographer

Hey Folks!

Today on the blog is Nicci & Tom’s wonderful ‘Wintery Wedding’ which was at the Grasshopper Inn in Westerham.

Nicci & Tom got married in December in a magical wintery themed day. They chose the Grasshopper as their venue because it’s cosy and has the great wintery atmosphere they were looking for. The wooden panels create a cosy vibe to the rooms, whilst adding character to the building.

For the center pieces in the room, these guys went for delicate vintage milk bottles stood upon natural slices of wood with sprays of Gypsophila. The also had little hearts noting the table numbers.

Their purple and silver colour theme was established from the bridesmaid dresses which were Nicci’s favourite find for the day! She chose glitzy sparkling silver shoes for the girls and loved them so much, she got a pair for herself too! The flower girl and page boys had fab outfits in a different shade of purple, topping off their outfits with sparkly trainers for Ella Jane, and fab bow ties and braces homemade by Nicci’s dad for the boys!

Tom and his best man had grey woollen suits with purple wool ties whilst the ushers had grey suits also with purple ties. The flowers were kept simple with Gypsophilia for the bridesmaids and flower girl to compliment the purple dresses, and a sign to walk down the aisle for their eldest pageboy – “Uncle Tom here comes Aunty Nicci” and the youngest carrying his trusty friend – a packet of Pombear crisps!

The dress was strapless with a sweetheart neckline and ballgown skirt – very princessy! Topped off with a glitzy headpiece. ‘I had a lace jacket to finish the dress off, which it truly did! I loved it and it made the dress perfect for our winter wedding! My hair was curled and pinned half up and half down which looked perfect, and the added touch of gyp throughout the curls gave it the finishing touch, as for my make up, it was so important to me that I still looked like me and the make up artist I felt did a fab job finishing off with a touch of sparkle on my eyes which were perfect!’

Nicci & Tom really enjoyed every second of their day and had this to say, ‘We couldn’t have asked for a better day, the venue and staff were fantastic (as was our photographer – thank you!!!) my ‘maids were a dream and I want to do it all over again!! I think it’s safe to say that the day was very much us and had a lot of emotion from walking down the aisle, to speaking with guests, speeches (finishing off tom’s was definitely not on the agenda, but so many people said that was, “simply us” – there for each other always!) and memorable songs being played on the dance floor. How could I forget the most perfect wedding cake too – with our unique bride and groom on the top – fantastic! We were surrounded by all our friends and family and loved every single minute, we both said we had never smiled and laughed (and cried) so much in one day – it was fab!’
