Shane & Grace’s Cooling Castle Barn Wedding Day
Today on the blog is Shane and Grace’s Cooling Castle Barn Wedding day.
The couple chose Cooling Castle Barn as their venue after falling in love with it at the first viewing. It had everything they needed and was also exactly their taste in décor and style. They love the fact that everything is held in one place and also the inside is just as beautiful as the outside, Cooling Castle Barn a distinct landmark in amongst the wilds of the North Kent Marshes.
Shane and Grace went for mainly mint/Tiffany blue for their colour scheme, but with a few different colours and tones added too. They wanted a bit of variety and were keen to match the colours with the bridesmaids skin tones to ensure that everyone felt happy and comfortable for the day.
There wasn’t really a set theme for the day, it was more just what ever they liked and felt was special to them. For Shane, a special aspect of the day was the table names! As an avid arsenal fan, it was important to include the team players in there somewhere!
Grace and Shane tried to keep the cost down by doing a lot of bits themselves. Grace’s very talented Mum and Grandma made her bouquet for her and revealed it on the morning of the wedding. Grace’s Mum also spun some of her magic on Grace’s beautiful dress too. As a seamstress by trade, her mum was originally going to make her gown for her, but after a visit to a bridal shop for ideas, Grace fell in love with a lace covered fishtail dress and just knew it was ‘the one’! Grace’s mum still got to add her own personal touch with a crystal belt, and handmade the veil to go with it, encrusted with crystals along the edges.
The Groomsmen wore dark navy slim fitted suits and matched the bridesmaids by having different coloured ties and handkerchiefs. Shane and his best man Wes wore matching Arsenal cuff links too! The littlest groomsmen Tyler, their son, wore a navy waistcoat and trousers with a bow tie to match Shane.
Grace and Shane had the time of their lives and felt it went perfectly. Here’s what they had to say…
‘The day was absolutely incredible I wouldn’t have changed anything other than not crying as much!’
‘Shane’s best moment was seeing me for the first time and my best moment was seeing his face as I walked down the aisle, well as much as I could see though the tears. I also was really proud to have my brother give me away as he is very special to me and it meant a great deal. The other thing that I will never forget was the first time I saw TJ our little boy in the morning and his words telling me that I looked beautiful will always stay with me forever.’
