Becci & Steve’s Bruisyard Country Estate Suffolk Wedding
Where did you get married?
Our wedding took place at the stunning Bruisyard Country Estate in Saxmundham. This location offered everything we wanted in a wedding venue, from the beautiful countryside views to the charming, historic feel of the estate itself.
What made you choose your wedding venue? Did you look at many?
We chose Bruisyard Country Estate because of its remarkable setting and the option to rent on-site accommodations. Being able to stay the night before the wedding and share that time with our wedding party added such a magical touch to the entire experience. Before discovering Bruisyard, we actually reserved two other venues, but neither truly captivated us the way Bruisyard did. In a similar theme, I had a few missteps with wedding attire, trying three wedding dresses and two sets of bridesmaids’ dresses before finding the right ones! But from the moment we toured Bruisyard Country Estate, we knew it was the perfect place. It just felt right—every corner of the estate matched the vision we had for our wedding day.
Did you have a theme for your wedding day?
We wanted our wedding at Bruisyard Country Estate to have an elegant and timeless atmosphere.Choosing a simple, neutral colour palette to enhance the estate’s natural beauty. We incorporated lush greenery and arranged large white avalanche roses and hydrangeas, which brought a classic yet fresh touch to the decor. Our cake mirrored this theme, featuring the same clean, minimalist style with a beautiful monogram created by my talented Maid of Honour. This detail made the cake feel personal and perfectly matched the understated elegance we envisioned.
How did you feel the day went as a whole?
Honestly, the day was everything we hoped for—it felt flawless. I had expected to feel a bit nervous or stressed, but those worries simply didn’t arise. Everything came together so seamlessly. The amazing staff at Bruisyard Country Estate helped us keep the day running smoothly, and Kent Toastmaster Jim Cattermole guided us and our guests with such warmth and professionalism. And of course, having James by my side made the day perfect.
What would be your number one tip to other couples planning their wedding?
My biggest piece of advice would be not to rush into any decisions. Choose things that feel meaningful to you, not just what’s trendy or popular at the moment. Your wedding day should reflect who you both are. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you’re marrying your best friend and celebrating with people who matter most. Embrace what feels right for you, and everything will fall into place, just like it did for us at Bruisyard Country Estate.
