Dave & Marie’s Tea Infused Cooling Castle Barn Wedding

Hey Folks! Today on the blog is Dave & Marie’s Wedding Day. Dave & Marie tied the knot at Cooling Castle Barn in Kent after falling in love with it straight away!

“We instantly knew as soon as we got engaged that we wanted to get married in a barn (we’re very ‘cosy’ people and this kind of setting suited us down to the ground!). Cooling was the only venue we saw… We fell in love with it and pencilled a date in straight away.”

“We met 4 years ago through our love of tea, so we knew that tea would be a big part of our day. Oddly enough, I always considered wearing anything green to be unlucky until I met Dave. Green became a bit special for us, so we used this for our main theme along with splashes of colour here and there so it wasn’t so formal.”

“I wanted a bouquet I could keep and I love my arts and crafts, so we decided to make two button bouquets together for myself and our bridesmaid. Our bridesman, groomsmen, dads and Dave all had button buttonholes which Dave’s mum kindly made for us – she also did our flower arrangements in teapots for the tables which were beautiful. Dave also made himself and the groomsmen button cufflinks to wear.”

“I chose a floaty A-line dress with quite a vintage feel by Amanda Wyatt. I had never considered wearing a dress with straps, but as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one! I loved the detail around the waist and on the straps, and it also went perfectly with my fur stole. I love vintage details and style, and so I knew I wanted to have makeup to reflect this. I decided to embrace my fair skin and wear bright red lipstick, with my hair up in a loose side bun.”

“Our day could not have been more perfect. After all the planning and hard work we had put in, it was overwhelming to see everything we had made all in one place, from our handmade favours, tea-related games, table names, place cards and table plan, all the way to our handmade wedding cake! My dad had also spent hours on the sewing machine making 90 metres of bunting, so to see it hanging in all its glory was great! The precious 15 minutes we had on our own right after the ceremony were really special, wandering around the Tithe Barn and riding in the back of our friend’s Land Rover!”
