Jason & Amy’s Autumnal Wedding At The Barnyard Wedding Venue

Jason & Amy’s Autumnal Wedding At The Barnyard Wedding Venue

Where did you get married/why did you choose the venue?

We got married at the Barnyard in upchurch sittingbourne.
We chose this venue mainly because of the animals, as we are both animal lovers, although we found out the news sometime later beefier the wedding day that the animals would be there no longer due to the expense of maintaining them. Which did make us a tad sad until we returned back at the venue for lunch and remembered how amazing the venue was anyway, the scenery, the tress, the apple orchards the fields the flowers, along with the relaxed, family friendly approach.
Our theme was slightly vintage with natural colours, greens and creams to begin with then I wanted to add a little bit of colour so lavender was introduced to brighten things up a bit, because of it being October we had wed I thought the leaves would be off the trees the colours would be autumn colours and I wanted to mix things up a bit and make it a brighter day.

Which flowers did you choose?

We had artificial flowers for our top tables and centre pieces, colours of green, cream and lavender sticking with the theme, cream roses and gypsophila along with a few other artificial flowers. My bouquet was likewise the same flowers although fresh flowers to stand out better for our pictures, the same with the bridesmaids flowers and buttonholes for the gents. We also gave a beautiful bunch of flowers each to our mothers for all that they have done for us, these we also of similar flowers to the theme.

Which style was the brides dress?

My dress was a vintage style, laced neckline and long sleeved laced arms, with a satin, backless train. I chose this dress as it was cheap but brand new, a good size to play around with and design my way, as i wanted, it came with plenty of material to allow me to find a dress maker to make my perfect dress from this dress and to call it my own! My favourite aspect of the dress was the back detail of the lace and slight blackness drop.

How did you have your hair/make up and why?

I had my hair and make up done in a vintage style as I love the vintage theme. Hair was curly and pinned up with my diamond clip. Make was natural and subtle although my lipstick was bright red intentionally as I wanted this to stand out.

Which colour did the groomsmen/ bridesmaids wear?

Bridesmaids had their hair curly, platted and pinned up and wore a light silver/purple corset dress with shoes of their individual taste. Groomsmen wore the As each other navy blue suits with waist coats and green ties along with their fresh buttonholes.

How did you feel that the day went as a whole?

We both had the best day of our lives! We felt the day went perfectly, we couldn’t have hoped for it to go any better, the sun came out as we said our vows, which made it warmer getting married outside and everyone appeared relaxed and happy. Obviously the happiest moment of that day was day “I do” and finally becoming husband and wife, oh and not forgetting Elliot my cat being a well behaved ring bearer, which caused a lot of speculation over the months of the lead up to the Wedding! But mainly to have all our friends and family together having a good time and enjoying their selves was enough for us! The day and evening was perfect but went far to quickly!

Oh and to add James you were brilliant on the day your professionalism was spot on, I was late getting back from the venue that morning to the bnb and you had already cracked on with your work taking pictures allowing me to get some breakfast inside and breath! All my family and friends thought you were brilliant, you knew when to be professional and when to be relaxed and get to know people, you got involved quickly and made it fun and the majority of the time we didn’t even know you were taking pictures! As for the pictures they are amazing and you captured shots that even I wouldn’t have thought of but would have loved.
